My *HE* smsed me, "Do you want to get married?" Well I just replied him, "I'm waiting for you to marry me!!" And he told me, "No regret my dear? I will not be able to buy a flat now, will not have a big ring, no regret my dear? My life is hard, and so I need to work hard. We may still get marry...but am I the right guy for you?" Even though it was just a sms but I have been moved by his words. In facts, he is so shy to see me on the next day while we were meeting... he is not romantic but I can tell that he is sincere. I believe he can be a good hubby.

A BBQ cum chalet was planned at City Beach Resort a month in advance of the proposa.l With my wife being kept in secret, my friends and her friends were all informed of what to do and help out during the proposal. I had prepared 3 star shaped balloons and one 42" moon shaped balloon in advance.

On the actual day, the BBQ happened as normal and my wife did not suspect of anything. I whipped out my guitar, played and sang "Now & Forever". Than i had a friend holding the star balloons at one side

and another holding the moon balloon at another corner. After the song, I held her hand and pointed to the moon balloon floating, I said "I would get the moon if you wanted it" I than turned her ard to the stars and said "I would get you the stars if you want" while she was looking at the stars in awe, I was already on my knee armed with the diamond ring. Popped the magic question "Will You Marry Me?" And she is now my wife...

It still fills my stomach with butterflies everytime I think of the proposal. It was a Friday night and I was fast asleep in my room. I awoke to the light kisses on my forehead. Opening my eyes, I saw the love of my life - my boyfriend. He held my hand and led me out of bed. He brought me to the window and motioned for me to look down.

From the 11th storey of my room, I saw the message "Will you marry me" lit in candles on the ground. Not sure if I was dreaming, I took another look and it almost looked like

the candles were burning brighter and brighter, as if they were an affirmation of the love we have for each other. I hugged him, smothered him with a kiss and cried, whispering "Yes" into his ear - the first of about 5,634 "yes-es" that night. It was a simple gesture yet it was something surprising, sweet and hada somewhat high-school-romancesque about it.

He proposed to me in front of another couple who were to register the following day. We were helping that couple in the preparation of their registry, so we all went together for dinner including another couple.

After dinner on that day, we walked around for a while, then he suggested going for deserts. We passed by Macdonald, he said that he is going to get ice cream, but we can go ahead, he will chase after us. By the time he came back, I was anxious for the ice cream, though it is something simple. As I

was enjoying the ice cream, somewhere half the cone, I realized that there is something in the cone, it looks like a tiny ice cube, I tot the ice cream wasn't made properly, but as I continued licking, I realized that it was not any ice cube, it was the ring!! I continued eating the ice cream while trying to maintain my cool, I played along with the game. I toyed with the ring, and when no one is looking, I took it out and hid it in my hand.

Soon I finished my ice cream, my boyfriend was shocked at first, then he quickly asked me whether I found anything in the ice cream sheepishly, I said no at first but when he asked over and over again, I handed the ring over. Then with the encouragement from my friends, he kneel down and proposed to me.

I have always imagined myself proposing to the Love of my Life just like a scene from the Japanese Drama "Love Generation"; Girl sees a message on a giant LCD Screen from Boy declaring his love for her. Girl is touched and tears of happiness starts to flow out from her sparking eyes..

On 29 December 2007, that wish became one of the most beautiful memories of my wife and I will have for the rest of our lives.. Actually, the preparation went way back to July/August 2007 when I was selecting an

outdoor media company for the proposal. After countless enquires and calls, I finally engaged a company called Straits Media to help flash my proposal animation at their electronic billboard outside Orchard Emerald. Preparation of the proposal animation was hectic and time consuming, as I sieved out the various photos telling the story of our 6 years of courtship. The last few nights before I submitted the animation were painstaking as I slowly piece together the words and music I wanted to show my future wife. The music used in the animation was "Now and Forever" (Richard Marx), which is my wife's favourite. Alas, the media company advised me to remove this song from the animation in view of potential copy right issues. I had to source alternative ways of playing the song to her as I felt the proposal would not had been complete without this coup de grace. After sending out frantic emails and contacting various radio stations, I was ecstatic to receive a call from Vernetta Lopez (Class 95) telling me that they can help to play this song together with a special message for my wife. What's left was to sort out the proposal ring, flowers and venue (where my wife would wait before she sees the proposal animation). Finally, all preparations were done!

On the day of proposal, I arranged to meet my wife at the open bar beside Orchard Emerald, saying that I was bringing her to a nice place for lunch. After picking up the flowers, I waited with my buddy and his wife for my wife to reach. My heart beat raced like a bullet train as I sat waiting for my wife. Thankfully, she was punctual on that day. At about 5 minutes before 2pm, I called her and directed her to the spot opposite to the screen where she would have a good view. I also insisted that she tune in to the radio station (I guess she was already suspecting that I had planned something by then). At around 2pm, the animation was started after Carol from Class 95 came on air to make the announcement, perfect timing! I watch with joy and pride as I saw my wife looking at the animation on the electronic billboard. Looks of surprise - check, slight embarrassment - check, tears of joy - check, the all important moment had finally arrived. As the screen flashed the words "My love, Li Ling, Will You Marry Me?", I went over and kneeled down with the bouquet and ring in hand. Amid the surprise and tears on her face, I could see her beautiful face nodding in agreement, that was my cue to slip the solitaire ring onto her finger. The proposal was sealed with a kiss as we stand close to each other, oblivious to the passerby's walking along the busy street.
