On one rainy day, my boyfriend took me onboard of the bus but not knowing that it goes to the Singapore Flyer. When I finally knew that I am going to the flyer, I was thrilled but not thinking of anything unusual. We enjoyed ourselves and even went to the cafe to have hot drinks to 'hide' from the rainy weather and to seek warm.
What comes next is such a surprise. He bought the tickets to Fireworks Celebration for that day. We immersed in the accompany of each other and enjoying every romantic |
moments as the fireworks shown their beauty right before us.
The night is coming to an end, thinking that that is the end of the event or maybe we can catch a bite but he purposely annoyed me with aimless direction to the point that we ended up at the Esplanade open atrium that I decided to stay put but by then I was upset with him as I was very hungry..With my back towards him, what I didn't realise was that he was already down on his knee and as I was upset with him, it took me a long while before I turned around wondering where he was and that's when he proposed with a bouquet of flowers and a proposal ring. Obviously there were people looking and half in shock and half in anger I went speechless and shy.. he apologised and told me that provoking me was part of the plan and that he will take care of me and protect me and be my pillar of support and after saying the magic words 'I will always love you, please marry me' that with a smile I gave him my hand... |

On Tingfang and my 2nd anniversary (6th Mar 09), I booked 2 rooms in Pan Pacific Hotel, one on top of the other at the #16 on the 31st and 30th floor. I first brought her to the room (31-16), left our stuff and went for dinner. Meanwhile, my friends who had checked in to room 30-16, rushed up and decorated my balcony with grass turf, 30kg of pebbles (arranged into 4 hearts), 3 large bags of rose petals (white, pink, red), scented candles, and light sticks. They drew down the blinds of the balcony before leaving.
|
After dinner, I brought her back to the room. As expected, she drew up the blinds to see the night sky, and as the pebbles and candles and green turf unfolded before her, she was stunned and kept asking me if I have prepared it. At this moment, my friends from the balcony below released 8 balloons up to my balcony, and at the end of the string, tied a home made (3D plastic jigsaw and styrofoam) diamond ring the size of my palm. I grabbed the ballons, pulled up the took-me-3-days-to-make-and-big-enough-to-put-in-a-plasticbag-ring and presented it to her. As her tears welled, I took out the Solitaire in my pocket and asked her to be my future wife. She cried but was composed enough not to give me an easy time, and asked me to say "Will you marry me?" a hundred times... I did. She said "Yes!" My friends got the hotel stuff to bring up the pre-arranged bouquet of roses, and present: a box of 3 bedtime story books for our kid in future. That night, i read her the story of "How Much Do I Love You" before she went to bed.

It was 7 July 2007, a significant milestone in our courtship. We were in Phuket, Thailand on our first ever overseas holiday together. To me, it was special because it was our first holiday and we were celebrating our 10th anniversary. What I didn't know was that he planned to make this date even more special. We went on an island hopping tour that morning and I had a minor accident on the speedboat. Now I've been diagnosed with a permanent spinal defect and the impact from the fall left me in shock. I was in tears and he wrapped me in towels and refused to let me out of his arms throughout the trip |
back. I rememeber thinking to myself that I would gladly leave myself in his care because I know that he'll be there for me no matter what.
We got back to the hotel and prepared for dinner plans. He suggested go for a walk on the beach and catch the sunset before dinner. We went down to the beach. It was really grey and cloudy and the beach was totally secluded, it was like we were the only two people on earth. I maintained this light-hearted chatter throughout until he suddenly pulled me to him and said that he didn't get me an anniversary present. I was going to reassure him that the trip was more then enough of a present, when he took a maroon coloured ring box out of his pocket. My words trailed off at this point and I know he said a whole bunch of stuff but I could hardly take in a word. All that was going through my mind was "Oh my god, it's really happening!" He moved to kneel down but I refused to let him. For the second time that day, I was in tears. A multitude of emotions were going through me, happiness, fear, anticipation, excitement. He finally asked that all important question, "Kat, will you marry me?" I was left speechless and could only nod my consent. It felt totally surreal as I watched him slip the ring on my finger. |

It was my birthday and my partner planned the programme for the day to celebrate this occasion. I was really excited and looked forward to my birthday celebration. First of all, he asked me to meet up at the place where we first met each other. I was surprised that he remembered the places that we first met as it happened 6 years ago. After that, he brought me to have dinner at the restaurant where we first dined together.
After dinner, he brought me to the Singapore Flyer to enjoy the night scenery, as I have |
always wanted to experience a ride on the flyer. It was a wonderful and romantic ride on the flyer. Half-way through the ride where our capsule reached the highest point, he gave me a bouquet of roses and asked if I have enjoyed myself today and I responded with joy. After which, he proposed to me and asked if I'm willing to spend my lifetime with him, I was truly touched and agreed to his proposal. It was one of my happiest and magical moments which we could always remember on this special occasion. |

It is the last day of the year 2008 and I got my girlfriend to attend a dinner function with me and my family. It is actually a company function of my dad's business partner and it is definitely the most unlikely event to pop the question, so my girlfriend thought. I gang up with my family and the business partner to create the atmosphere and throughout the dinner, nothing is said or done to let the cat out of the bag. I managed to excused myself halfway to run to my car and decorate it with flowers and using colored ice creams sticks, I piece out the words "Will You Marry Me?" on the windscreen.

At
1150pm, I got my sister to get my Girl to go down to 'put some stuff in the car'. I even got my sister to do a video of the surprise reaction when she see what happened to the car! Following that, they came up to the Lobby where I am waiting with roses imprinted with the same question "Will you marry me?" That was the first time she lost her tongue when I ask her for her hand. Without waiting for her answer, I kneel down and clumsily took out the diamond ring and stuff it onto her finger! It is the happiest moment of our lives! Everyone celebrated with us at the dinner with champagne and thank you Singapore for providing the fireworks!
