did u actually managed to negotiate for an extra nite or free barrel of beer? that'll be so gd! me taking smaller ballrm so i doubt there were much room for negotiation at all Sad

Haiz... i didnt win anything. suppose to go church after the show, waited so long, missed gog to church, in the end never win anything. hahahaha

i did ask for extra night and extra barrel, but they say cannot.

my AD is 21 Nov 09. What abt yours? Have confirmed my PG, so sourcing for VG now. BS not yet still. But hope to confirm everything this year b4 all the crazy price increases! How's yr prep getting on? Smile

I've jus booked my banquet. the rest havent. all prices will increase next year???? MUA, PG, VG, BS??? oh my god, im still shaking leg leh. you are scaring me...

I will be doing my solemisation before my dinner, i dunno if will have enough time. you ROM already?

Hi Hi!

I too booked our dinner at Novotel during the wedding show. They are really strict in their perks and packages, tried neg with huiling a few times but some got it and others could not. They are strict on their beer policy and corkage charges, whereas others like upgrading to bridal suite and food menu they are willing to talk and listen.

Our only concern was for those non-chinese coming to the wedding. Theirs is only a 5 course menu unless we get a full table of 10 then it will be a full 8/9 course menu. Is it a norm for those non-chinese to have lesser food during the wedding? Must we inform them beforehand about it?

Am a little confused with it. Big Smile

Anyway we also got a prize during the show, also a 3D2N stay in Novotel Bali and other stuffs like free wedding car rental & discounted beauty packages.

Ya i've rom already, just abt 2 mths back. My friend is also holding her ROM b4 the banquet. I thk getting v common these days...save time and prepn Smile

Should have enough time..not to worry abt that since the ceremony usually takes abt 15-20min only..

Drac> is that the 2nd prize u won?? omg Congrats!! i thk 2nd prize is way better than the 1st prize IMO, cos i much prefer the free wedding car rental! and Bali is like way better than KL for short getaways. hee.

Anyway ya u shd infm NCQ early of any special food arrangements. Can't answer the part on 5 course though. Stick out tongue

Actually we got the 3rd prize... hehe... i know the first prize was air ticket to KL i think... but anyway the car rental was what i was targeting for... lucky us ah... Big Smile

Bali air ticket also no cheap wor... about $250 per tix. Still thinking want to go or sell the bali resort stay. i checked online, think its worth about US$400 for 2 nights ah. Dunno got see wrongly or not ah. Hahaha....

KL also not bad ah...most important that it is free.... Big Smile

Regarding the food, i checked with them already. We got to wait till food tasting then we need to confirm the menu and any muslim or vegetarian menus. Sometimes i think just to save the trouble and dun invite them ah, more cost incurred by us leh. Actually its only about $80+ per person, but now becomes $160+ per person and only 5 course. Not really worth it ah.

Our AD is on 22 May 09. Preparation for the AD nothing done yet, now getting ready for photoshoot and bridal fitting first. Will start preparing from January 09 onwards.

We confirmed our BS with Bridal Concept already. Going for fitting next month Big Smile

We also wanted to consider the JB studio, but after considering the trips we got to go thru and fro is a headache, especially with the super pack checkpoint which never seems to be smooth sailing. Imaging u got to go in to try ur gown --> then amend --> then try again --> then trial make up --> then go photoshoot --> then choose photos --> then see album layout --> then finalise photo album --> then collect gown for AD --> then return gown for AD. Hmm.... that is a total of a minimum of 10 times going in for the basic stuffs only, if got other hickups then got to go in more times.Haiz.... that is what prevented us from choosing JB ah.

But if you like the style there, please go ahead with ur decision Stick out tongue

Hi all Grooms and Brides to be, its been a long time I have come here to post. We had our wedding dinner at NCQ back in Sep07, was a Friday. Like many of us here, we will try to get as much "freebies" as possible from the sales people. For us,we managed to get 1 bottle of red wine for each table (based on the old 06-07 package) and only 1 barrel of beer. Based on my guests' comsumption patterns, it seems that red wine is more popular than beer and hard liquor. But understand from my previous sales manager (Jamie Tan), it would end up more expensive to bring your own red wine (cos of corkage surcharges) and more work on your part too (to source, buy and deliver to hotel on time). As such, for my case, we open another 40 bottles of red wine ... but trust me ... you can bargain for discount when they present the final bill to you ....

Service and ambience is number one. In fact, the Captain on duty that night (cant recall his name, a Malay guy, quite big size guy) was very good ... kept me updated on all events, e.g. red wine low, want to open another dozen?, ensure LCD projector and laptop are connected properly, clam us down before the 1st & 2nd march-in and many many more ... best is he spotted my jacket was crumbled, so initiated to iron for me at his backroom. Service number 1!
After the whole event, I wrote a compliment email to NCQ GM, praising both Jamie and the Captain for their extra mile serviced. Well done!!!

As for BS, you may want to consider ours, god for those who is on tight budget and not having very very high expectations or fanciful results. Its Kowloon Studio located opposite Aljunied MRT. Our package, including ROM, MTM gowns and pants, photoshoots, and extra photos, cost about $4k.Each extra photo they charged $60 .. to me is already very cheap as compared to those along Tanjong Pagar area. Last of all, do feel free to let me know if you need any help in house renvovations (contractor contacts), electrical appliances and others.
