Steven Peh, 30 and Elyse Ang, 31

Malaysians Steven and Elyse met during a part-time school holiday job in their hometown 14 years ago. Although Elyse harboured a crush on Steven then, nothing transpired between them. Steve eventually went to Singapore to work while Elyse headed to Kuala Lumpur to study.

However, when Elyse graduated and moved to Singapore, the two got in touch, and their friendship began to bloom.

The couple had a “White and Red” themed poolside wedding at Changi Village Hotel on 9 September 2009. Their bridal outfits are from SG Bridal House in Johor Bahru.

Nelson Yip, 29 and Joycelyn Jin, 27

Nelson and Joycelyn met through a popular Internet chat site 10 years ago. After chatting to each other for a month, they finally decided to meet each other.

Nine years later at a New Year’s Eve countdown party, Nelson decided to propose to his sweetheart. Just when the clock struck midnight, Nelson and his friends gathered to share their New Year resolutions. When it came to Nelson’s turn, he knelt down and proposed to Jocelyn.

The couple will be getting married on 20 December 2009 at Millennium Hotel. Their bridal outfits are from Di Gio Bridal.

Kelvin Leong, 34 and Ang Lay Yong, 28

When Kelvin first saw Lay Yong’s display picture on “Friendster”, a popular social networking site, he was immediately attracted to her. Lay Yong had displayed a profile picture of herself together and her mother on “Friendster”. And it was because of that, Kelvin felt Lay Yong would be a family oriented person, much like himself. In addition, the picture of her mum resembled closely to his mum (both being “plus” sizes).

The two struck up a conversation online and went on several dates. Within six months of dating, Kelvin knew that Lay Yong was someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He proposed to her one and a half years later at the Singapore Flyer.

The couple had their “Garden” themed wedding at Grand Ballroom, Grand Park City Hall Hotel on 24 October 2009. The bridal outfits are from Jazz Bridal.

Chris Zhang, 29 and Peggun Leung, 26 Chris and Peggun met in 2002 at a Book Fair where they were both working part-time. Back then, Chris often teased Peggun and even poked fun of her big pimple. However, things took a turn two years later when the couple met again at Peggun’s birthday party. Sparks flew, and they began dating. After four years of courtship, Chris proposed to Peggun with a bouquet of flowers and a sparkling ring. The couple held their ceremony at Marriot Hotel on 21 November 2009.
