What is Kingsmen known for?
Our suits are hand-stitched, and we pay special attention to details such as lapels with side stitching, jacket sleeves with functional buttonholes and trousers with waist inlay material for maximum comfort wear. We are also known for our fine, premium fabrics, colours and print sensibilities when it comes to creating a complete ensemble.
How does fabric contribute to a perfectly tailored suit?
Good fabric plays a very important role in the tailoring of a quality suit. We highly recommend wool fabrics from super 130s range. These fabrics are ideal for fine tailored suits, blazers and trousers. They will fit and fall on your form better and make you feel more comfortable wearing the suit.
What is the most important concern when creating a suit for the groom?
Most grooms are not as fashion-conscious as their bride when it comes to design and colours. This is where we step
in. We will evaluate their physique and appearance such as their skin tone, size and height, before advising them on style and fabrics. And if needed, we will also be around to assist them with their dressing on the wedding day itself.
TAILORING FOR...
MediaCorp artiste Shaun Chen on his wedding day.
Kingsmen tailored three suits for Shaun's wedding — two tuxedos and a light-coloured pinstriped day suit. “The design is slim-fit with side vents and notch-lapels that are hand-stitched,” says Ben. “We also provided Shaun with a white silk vest, two white dress shirts and accessories to complement the suits.”
How do they complement Shawn’s appearance?
He has a nice complexion, so when he wears the tuxedos, he looks very smart and elegant. Plus, with his physique, he looks great in classic suit designs.
What fabrics were used?
The peak-lapel tuxedo was made of 130s lightweight cashmere wool, and the shawl-lapel tuxedo of super 120s silk wool. For the day suit, we used the super 130s lightweight cashmere wool.
How do the tuxedos match the bridal theme?
It was a very formal event, so they were the perfect complement to Michelle’s classy wedding gowns.
