The couple first met at Anglo Chinese Junior College, not as students but as teachers and colleagues. “He struck me as a very friendly and helpful guy with a good sense of humour,” admits Julia. “I was going through a rough patch at that time and Cephas showered me with so much care and concern. He never failed to be around for me in and out of hospital when my grandma was in coma. He even came down to my grandma's wake to accompany me everyday after work. His sincerity and care touched my heart deeply and we finally got together.”

Adwin Kwa, 27 and Irene Lee, 27

One Saturday in June two years ago, Adwin came home very late after work. This made Irene very unhappy as she had been waiting for him the whole evening. It was only when Adwin whipped out the ring and a bouquet of flowers that Irene realised he was busy preparing for the proposal that evening. “He came back late because he went to many florists before he manage to get a bouquet for me,” she beams.

Fabian Tan, 26 and Serene Tan, 26

Fabian proposed to Serene at Sentosa’s luge ride. That day, everything appeared normal throughout their outing at the beach and during the luge ride. It was only when they were toward the end of the ride that Serene was surprised to see many people standing at the bridge holding a banner. “I did not really look at the words as I was focused on controlling the cart. Joe Ho, 33 and Amy Li, 29

During a visit to Shanghai, Joe’s colleague organised a karaoke session between their colleagues and friends. And that was when Joe first laid eyes on Amy. Unfortunately for the Architectural designers, Amy was recruited into the Shanghai branch office while Joe had to return to Singapore. It was a long-distance from the beginning of the relationship until Joe’s transfer back to the Shanghai branch office. And it was then that he finally popped the question.

The couple tied the knot on the 8 June 2008 at The Sentosa Resort & Spa.

Linus Ng, 26 and Carin Wang, 23

The day before Linus proposed to Carin, he sent her some song lyrics he had written to express his feelings. The following day after dinner while driving home from dinner, he asked Carine if she wanted to listen to the song he wrote. He then played the song and it was actually sung by Shayne Ward’s called Stand by Me. “It was then I realized he had lied to me but it was a nice song,” says Carin. When they reached home, Linus got on one knee and popped the question with a gorgeous SK Jewellery ring.

The couple will be having their wedding on 14 March 2009 at Hill Top, Bukit Batok. Their bridal outfits are from Volans Couture.
